Paragon was founded in 1992 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Over more than three decades, we've grown into a regional general agency while staying grounded in the relationships and service principles we were founded on.

Bob and Jan Hart founded Paragon in 1992 as a retail insurance agency in Scottsdale, Arizona. As more brokers sought their support, the business naturally evolved into a general agency, beginning with its first carrier partnership with American Medical Security.

The Model Takes Hold
Paragon's general agency model continued to grow as more brokers placed their trust in the team. When American Medical Security became part of UnitedHealthcare, Paragon's first carrier relationship carried forward—marking the beginning of a partnership that continues today.

Expanding Beyond Arizona
As broker relationships grew, so did Paragon's reach. What began as a local Arizona general agency expanded throughout the Mountain West while remaining family owned and committed to responsive, hands-on service.

Leadership entered its second generation when Patrick Hart became President in 2021. Today, Paragon continues to invest in technology, strengthen carrier relationships, and expand the resources available to brokers—all while staying true to the relationships and service principles upon which the agency was founded.
