Our history
How Paragon started
Paragon was founded in 1992 by Bob and Jan Hart in Scottsdale, Arizona, as an independent retail agency focused on small employer groups. Years later, they found a passion for supporting brokers in growing their books of business, prompting Paragon to pivot from a retail broker to a general agency. Paragon’s first general agency contract was awarded in the late 90s by American Medical Security, which was later part of an acquisition by UnitedHealthcare.
Today, Paragon, a leading Western region general agency, focuses on medical and ancillary benefits, insuring over 75,000 members with more than 1,500 broker partners nationwide.
