Our history
How Paragon started
Founded in 1992 by Bob and Jan Hart in Scottsdale, Arizona, Paragon started as an independent retail agency specializing in small employer groups. Over time, their passion for helping brokers grow their businesses led to a shift from a retail broker to a general agency. In the late 1990s, Paragon was awarded its first general agency contract by American Medical Security, which was later acquired by UnitedHealthcare. Today, Paragon is a leading general agency in the Western region, focusing on medical and ancillary benefits insuring over 75,000 members through more than 1,500 broker partners nationwide.
